It carried the birth name of Soorya Mangallaya. Members of Elasto Group Welfare Society under its President Mr D.G. Gomez and its Secretary Ms Harshani Wijerathne with the support of all got together and within a week made a format for the event and organized the GALA DO which will etch to the enduring memory of the Elasto family.
It started on 24th April 2016 with a note and address by the amiable chairman of Elasto Group Mr. Mangala Gunasekera who well-articulated the UN Charter Chapter Article 55 which emphasized the need of the qualitative aspect of the human development.
Days proceedings began with the traditional hoisting National Flag followed by the hoisting of the company flags of Elasto and Textrip companies.
Events did follow in rapid sequence to the tune of merry mood of the day. The day was totally dedicated to Elasto Group employees and their families. Events which won hearts of the gathering were many; among them the selection of Avurudu Kumari and Avurudu Kumaru , cultural dancing by individuals and by troops, athletic events and display of physical prowess. The events were matched for everyone in attendance and also it was a talent hunt for pitching those having talents for outside talent shows and athletic meets.
Festivals are of an integral part of culture of the country hence of life. It is a tool to reach the gate way to profound understanding of life and bringing societal members to enthusiasm. Raising life productivity is inevitable result thereof. Mundane life is filtered to have freshness to find new windows of life. This is what Elasto Soorya Mangallaya has finally achieved.
Special thanks to those of 9 depts heads and efficient members who supported untiringly the welfare society of the company to make the event a roaring success. How successful it was??? We do it every year was the voice of those in attendance. That points to the success rating of Elasto Soorya Mangallaya.
